🎺 Celebrate Louis Armstrong’s Birthday with Live Jazz!

Join us this Independence Day for an unforgettable afternoon celebrating the music and legacy of Louis Armstrong with the Armstrong House Allstars featuring acclaimed trumpeter Alphonso Horne.

Due to the forecasted heat, this special event will now take place indoors in the Louis Armstrong Center’s Jazz Room, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.

The celebration begins at 2:00 p.m. with a curated selection of Louis Armstrong recordings spun by Matthew Rivera, followed by a special performance at 2:30 p.m. by students from the Louis Armstrong House Museum’s Trumpet Learning Program. At 2:45 p.m., the Armstrong House Allstars take the stage, bringing the timeless energy of Louis Armstrong’s legendary Hot Five recordings to life through an electrifying live performance.

Whether you’re a lifelong jazz lover or discovering Louis Armstrong’s music for the first time, this joyful afternoon promises incredible music, inspiring young musicians, and a celebration worthy of one of America’s greatest cultural icons.
