Jazzmobile: David Ostwald’s Louis Armstrong Eternity Band featuring Enrico Tomasso AND Kevin Blancq & The Crescent City Six

David Ostwald’s Louis Armstrong Eternity Band –

Join us at the Louis Armstrong House Museum for a joyful celebration of Louis Armstrong on August 8, at his historic home in Corona, Queens.

This special afternoon will feature a live performance by David Ostwald’s Louis Armstrong Eternity Band, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the music and spirit of Louis Armstrong. The band is especially honored to be featuring Enrico Tomasso, the renowned British trumpeter who formed a personal connection with Louis Armstrong in 1968 at the age of seven.

Their unforgettable meeting captured in the story “The Kiss of Joy”, is a testament to Louis’s generosity, warmth, and lasting influence across generations.

In addition to the performance, the day may include special programming for young audiences, creating a meaningful and engaging experience for families and children.

Come celebrate Louis’s legacy where it lives on, with music, history, and community.

Kevin Blancq & The Crescent City Six | Presented by Jazzmobile
Kevin Blancq & The Crescent City Six, led by trumpeter and educator Kevin Blancq, brings the spirit and swing of New Orleans jazz to the stage with style, warmth, and deep musical tradition. Rooted in the rhythmic drive, blues feeling, and collective improvisation that define classic New Orleans ensembles, the group honors the early jazz tradition while keeping the music fresh and vibrant for today’s audiences. Blancq, a New Orleans native based in New York City, has spent decades performing, teaching, and championing jazz, including his long service as director of the jazz bands at LaGuardia High School. Through his leadership, the Crescent City Six delivers an engaging sound that blends musicianship, history, and joy, making every performance a celebration of the city where jazz was born.
