The Louis Armstrong House Museum is proud to participate in Community Archiving Day at the Queens Museum, a free public event celebrating the preservation of personal histories, cultural memory, and community storytelling.

Join archivists, artists, historians, and community organizations from across New York City for an afternoon of workshops, conversations, and hands-on activities exploring how we preserve stories for future generations. Whether you are a professional archivist, a family historian, or simply curious about preserving photographs, recordings, and memories, Community Archiving Day offers an opportunity to learn about archival practices and connect with others engaged in this important work.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a photograph, story, or personal item to inspire discussion and reflection around memory, heritage, and community history.

The event will feature participation from organizations including StoryCorps, the Rikers Public Memory Project, Lewis Latimer House, the Langston Hughes Library and Cultural Center, and many others dedicated to preserving the rich cultural histories of New York City communities.
